Daring or Daunting????

Well what a strange 2 years we have just been through, free testing has now ended and COVID19 is now somehow irrelevant to many a media outlet or government figure. The pandemic was both good and bad for me personally.

The bad.......being classed as clinically extremely vulnerable left me feeling very very isolated for long periods of time. My stress levels went through the roof when all I wanted was to get back to work and resume some kind of normality to my life. During lockdown 1 I went against the advice to not work as my day job is within a school and we had between 1 and 8 pupils and 3 staff whilst being a split site meant I could be on my own in one building at any time. Fast forward to Jan '21......the next 3 months were truly awful. Staying at home must be bliss right??? Wrong, very wrong. When you are used to being out the house by 6am and not home until 6pm being home all day, every day, was hard. The countdown to the 31st March (when CEV could return to workplace) was on.

The good....having so much time on your hands is good if you can use this time well. I could at times, I spent many an hour doing gardening(we all did right?), I got to see my new-born grow which I missed with my eldest. Obviously the added time with my wife and children was a blessing, taught my eldest to ride a bike, we built bird houses, squirrel benches, she used power tools for the first time and we built her her very own toolkit Argos 1990's catalogue esque(if you know you know). Another thing that was good was that I recaptured my enthusiasm for woodwork, I actually had time to get in the workshop!

Now we are at August '22 and I have started my woodworking journey publicly. I will be doing a monthly blog sharing the ups and downs of starting a new business venture in a very different world. The first couple of blogs will be all about the starting up and how wrong or right it is going.

See You Soon!!!
